Franko Nel, the photographer behind FNel Photography, based in Pretoria, South Africa. I studied photography for three years at Vega School in Pretoria, where I developed both my creative vision and technical skills.
My mission is simple: to create powerful images that show how unique every person truly is.
After almost every shoot, I hear the same question:
“Is that really me?”
And my answer is always — yes, that is you.
That moment of surprise, confidence, and self-belief is the reason I do what I do.
I specialize in studio photography, working across a wide range of styles including portraits, fashion, bikini, lingerie, fine art nude, outdoor, family, and couples. My studio is equipped with a variety of props and backdrops, allowing me to create different moods and concepts tailored to each client.
I approach every shoot with a mix of planning and creativity. Some sessions are carefully designed, while others evolve naturally as I experiment with lighting, settings, and ideas — often leading to the most unique and striking images.
Using my Canon 5D Mark III and professional lenses, I focus on capturing images that are not only visually strong, but also authentic, expressive, and timeless.
I also continue to grow as a photographer by participating in international platforms and competitions such as 500px, Viewbug, Gurushots, Photocrowd, 35 Awards, and Pulsepx.
For me, photography is more than just taking pictures —
it’s about confidence, creativity, and showing people who they really are.
